Winter Opossum

I was driving up a snowy mountain road today hoping to catch a good sunset photo when I happened upon this little opossum by the side of the road. He was nice enough to climb up on this snowbank to pose for a few photos, probably hoping that I would just take my shots and [...]

We spotted this little guy sitting out on the ice over the creek the other morning. Not sure if he dug that hole in the ice or not, but it did seem that he was sitting there eating something. I was happy to finally get a half-decent shot of our local wildlife with my inexpensive [...]

It rained for a few days last week. This chickadee weathered the storm by hanging out in the bird feeder that our son made in school. It looks like some of the web bird seed has stuck to the poor bird’s beak. He hung out there pretty much the whole day and didn’t seem to [...]

Went out and shot the geese in the yard the other evening. I like that in this shot the birds are all looking in different directions and none are looking at me. I also like the touch of evening sun that managed to cut through the trees and cast a bit of light onto the [...]

Return of geese and goslings The geese have returned with their young. Only two little ones this year… I hope they make it! I think they started off with five young ones last year. I spotted them for the first time today as I was looking out the bedroom window. They slipped away while I [...]

This is a backside entrance to the park that many people never see. The official entrance to Pleasanton Ridge [...]
