We spotted this little guy sitting out on the ice over the creek the other morning. Not sure if he dug that hole in the ice or not, but it did seem that he was sitting there eating something. I was happy to finally get a half-decent shot of our local wildlife with my inexpensive [...]

Our son really likes to pet and hold the chickens whenever it’s our turn to close up the coop. I clean and refill the water, Mom and the girl collect the eggs, and the boys pet the birds and try to hold them. The oldest boy is getting quite good at it. These white ones [...]

These are some of our fresh eggs from the chickens. We collect for the co-op once a week, and we are getting between one and almost two dozen fresh eggs each time we go. Lit with a single Speedlite bounced off the kitchen ceiling.

Quick shot of my little flexible tripod. Laid out on black felt and lit with a single speedlite.

We have ben really enjoying the fresh friuts and vegetables that have been coming our CSA box. Locally grown foods just seem to tast better, not to mention being better for our environment and our community farms. This is a slice of watermelon and some seeds that we enjoyed for desert the other day. Delicious!

In the past I’ve always worked on the technical side of the fence. My employers have always given me a few dozen business cards for the off chance that I may actually meet a customer face to face. Recently, however, I took on a role on the sales side of things, and I was moderately [...]

Great fluffy clouds in the sky on this day. I had commented on the clouds on the way into a conference earlier in the day and was asked if I was a photographer or something. Indeed, these are things that photographers love to see, both for soft even light and for interesting background texture. Shame [...]

We were at the amusement park the other day and thought I would find some good perspective shots. Even though it was the middle of the day, the wheel was empty and quiet as it was down for repairs. At first this photo didn’t really strike me as much, mostly because the sky was completely [...]

Just a routine blood test for me, but we know all too well that this can be a regular part of survival for some people. The phlebotomist was puzzled if not entertained that I wanted to take pictures of her drawing my blood. (This was another one of those instances where I spend more time [...]

I’ve had this old electric knife in the garage ever since my parents passed it off to me. I think I might have one memory of it from when I was a kid, probably from a Thanksgiving dinner. I don’t recall seeing it much though, and the condition of the knife would seem to back [...]
