Pouring a beer with friends at our local Indian restaurant. I usually try to go for an appropriate ethnic drink, or at least a drink that comes from that country. The beer list was mostly American beer or traditional imports, with Taj Mahal beer being the only exception. It was OK… it may have been brewed in India, but it seemed a very American style.

Tried to catch some nice evening sun down by the water the other day. Got some nice colors in this HDR image of the grasses even if none of the orange light came through. Really happy with the LR/Enfuse HDR plug-in though. The price is reasonable (donationware) and it can batch-process multiple images stacks. Not a lot of options to tweak but seems to work just fine.

Monument of a in Lexington , a pivotal place in America’s fight for Independence. The Lexington Battle Green is visible immediately behind. This is an HDR from bracketed exposures with the DSLR using a new plug-in I got for Lightroom. I had been using a trial another great HDR tool, but you will notice the watermarks are no longer present. The new tool has fewer features than the other, but the price fits my budget and the results fit my needs so I think we have a winner. Bought a nice HDR app for my iPhone too, more on that later…

I’m not always standing in a lobby waiting for a meeting. Sometimes I’m walking around outside while I’m dialed into a meeting from my cell phone. I was in Cambridge for one meeting and then stopped at a coffee shop to call into the next meeting. I walked around while on the call, and this mural was painted on the side of one of the adjacent stores where I was standing. For those of you who know where this is, I’ll tell you that my favorite computer parts store is right here as well.

I ran out one busy day to bring lunch to my wife, and across the street from her favorite deli is this little gray barn. I had been playing with the HDR photos lately so I composed my shot and took three different exposures with my iPhone and off I went. Turns out those were the only the three photos I took this day, if you even want to consider them three pictures and not just variations of the same one. Anyway, it turns out I have already used this composition in my p365, back in the spring on day 110. Same barn, same angle, but really very different photos.

Driving home from another day on the road when I realized I hadn’t taken any pictures. I stopped just after the bridge over the Concord River coming in Carlisle and took a few quick photos with the iPhone. This picture is kind of missing a subject but still makes for a pretty scene.

Our VP of sales was in town and joined us for a few prospect calls. We had lunch at a famous place in Boston, which was my opportunity to stop and take a few photographs with the iPhone.

Not far from where I live is the Commuter Bike Path This converted rail trail runs from this station in Bedford, MA out to the Alewife MBTA station in Arlington. It is rumored to be the bussiest bike path in America, and given what I’ve seen I tend to believe it.

I’ve grown impatient waiting for the geese to accept me into their flock.  I decided to try to inject myself into the gaggle, but they just keep moving away.  It was great fun chasing them around the yard for a bit, but ultimately I still do not feel like one of the bunch.  Still, this shot of these five makes me smile.

I really should know the better. I know that the glass tower is the John Hancock building, and I also know the stone has some historic significance but the name escapes me. The building in the I cannot name at all, but there’s a chance I just left from a meeting inside of it. This is an HDR composite from iPhone images. I love the way the tones are all even and nicely exposed in these composites…. I really need to break down and pay for this wonderful software. Maybe if I write some posts specifically on the Photomatix Pro software they’ll give me a comp copy.
