Tried to catch some nice evening sun down by the water the other day. Got some nice colors in this HDR image of the grasses even if none of the orange light came through. Really happy with the LR/Enfuse HDR plug-in though. The price is reasonable (donationware) and it can batch-process multiple images stacks. Not [...]

While we were eating inner inside, this heron was fishing for his dinner outside. I spotted him out the window and managed to get outside with the camera before he wandered too far up the river. I had the 18-55mm lens on at the time and couldn’t pull in any closer than this but I [...]

A boy runs though the grass with his arms stretched high. I don’t know exactly what he’s thinking, but he sure looks like he’s flying to me!

More fun with the kids in the yard. I think they enjoyed seeing the "frozen in air" type pictures. One thing I’ve learned is that it’s hard to get a 3yr-old and a 6yr-old to jump in unison. Here’s the 3yr-old and her amazing floating boots.

On Saturday I set out for a walk in the town forest that sits across the street from our house. I hoped to find a trail and maybe something interesting, and I have since learned that neither really exist. (Well, unless you find wetlands and beaver gnawings interesting… which I kinda do in a way.) [...]
