A flower from the echinacea plant by the side of our house.

Some blue and yellow pansies or johny-jumpups or something. Taken while standing in line for food at the local amusement farm.

Spotted this foxglove growing out beside the creek. The direct sunlight created some harsh shadows. If I had known this was going to be the random photo of the day then I would have modified the light with a reflector or a diffuser.

We recently went on a tour at Gibbett Hill Farm in Groton. Our local farm owns some cattle there, and they hosted a tour to let the customers see the cows and how they are raised. (To “meet the meat”, if you will.) It was great to see that all the cows are completely free [...]

I spotted these little gems at a local community airport in Stow Massachusetts. I really liked how the one flower stood out from the rest but yet shared many of the same colors as the smaller ones.

The big carved stone sign is new, and not seen in this photo is the enlarged farm-stand itself. Anyway… a little free advertising for our friends, so come on down and [...]

There’s a rhododendron bush on the side of our house. I don’t do much to tend to it, and it usually has pretty lackluster results. This spring it made a few nice flowers though, and I was able to make at least one good photo from them. Lit with both natural sunlight and a single [...]

I noticed today that the bleeding heart plant we put in has flowered. The geese and goslings were in the yard this morning so I stepped out to try and get a few good shots before the parents scooted the little fuzballs away. Coming back to the house I saw these flowers in the flower [...]

Patches of these little white flowers have sprung up all over my lawn. Probably wouldn’t happen if I actually mowed the grass more often. They’re pretty though, especially up close like this.

I stopped in a local cemetery the other day while I was out in the car with a couple of the kids. The kids had fun running around while I hunted down a few good photos. Of the ones that I took I liked this composition the best. I would have liked to have a [...]
