Left my hotel room around dusk and walked downtown to see the sights. First thing I came to was the White House, this being the back of the building and the side with the closest public access. There were groups of students, tourists, and protesters gathered outside the fence here. The sun had just gone [...]

I did walk around to the front of the white house as well. The fence here was much further away from the building, and the sun had fully set by the time I got around. Still, it’s a good looking shot even with the limited lighting.

There are these fields and farmhouses at the end of my road that I always think are pretty when I drive by. This weekend we claimed our Christmas tree from the tree farm adjacent to the fields and I was treated to this view from above our road. We may only be thirty miles outside [...]

From time to time I pass this old school on my way through the city of Lowell Massachusetts. This past weekend I had the opportunity to stop briefly and take a few photos of it in the late afternoon sun. The school, erected in 1882, is closed off and boarded up and I was relegated [...]

At the top of the hill in the center of town is this beautiful old farm. I stopped by one night and did some long exposure shots. This is an HDR blend of three exposures. I would have liked the porch lights to have been toned a bit but still pretty happy with the results.

Another meeting near the Hancock tower in Boston, another iPhone picture of buildings in its reflection. Not sure of the name of the building on the right, but I was up there in it just before coming down and taking this photo. It was overcast and there was not a lot of color in this [...]

Took a drive into Cambridge recently and did some shooting out the car window. Texting while driving is illigal in our state now, but I didn’t see anything about taking pictures while stopped in traffic. This is Harvard University’s Weld Boathouse. Really pretty building and I’d love to explore it further with the camera. This [...]

I was presenting in Stamford Connecticut last week and took a little walk around the block before the session got started. Churches always tend to catch my eye, but I was able to mix things up a little this time by shooting it through some odd holes-through-a-cube art installation half a block away. Pretty sure [...]

I spotted this on the way home from work and stopped to take some photos. This one is an HDR composite from several exposures. Not a great shot but it’s what I have for this entry.

Walking back from an appointment in Boston I passed this campus green and was really impressed with the beauty. The iPhone photo doesn’t do it justice. Pretty sure this is part of the Harvard Medical School campus. This photo was supposed to be number 263 but I somehow skipped publishing two photos. Ah well, I [...]
