I was thinking to myself as I walked around with my camera and new strap how much less it will suck to accidentally let the strap fall into the frame of the shot. This could have just been a seriously bad photo of my own leg, but instead I captured this cool shot of black [...]

My wife surprised me with a wonderful gift by getting me one of the super-cool camera straps that I’ve been eyeing up. All hand-made, rock-star quality leather strap with a “Speed Racer” style orange band sewn in. I’m not worthy… yet. Shot on Christmas day just after opening it, single speedlte bounced off the ceiling.

Quick shot of the emblem on my small gear bag. Gotta shoot something. Lit with a single strobe bounced off the ceiling.

Quick shot of my little flexible tripod. Laid out on black felt and lit with a single speedlite.

An old Chevy hot-rod done up nice in a black and orange flame paint job. This was parked outside a Classic Convertables / Classic Cookout establishment that we stop at on our way to Maine. I was sitting on the ground taking some low-angle photos and the owner actually came up to ask what was [...]

As part of my new job I will occasionally be doing demonstrations of our product. To do so I need to run five virtual machines at once on my laptop, and to do that I needed a little extra room and a little more power from the hard drive. Our IT guy got me this [...]

For this day I present to you a black bat in a dark cave. I even added a nice white border with a drop-shadow effect just to liven it up a little. This is kind of like my “plar bear in a snowstorm” photo, but a little different. OK, seriously, I failed on another day [...]

Another shot with one of the kid’s toys as my subject of the day. I set this up with black felt draped behind and over a table, speedlite bounced off a white wall to camera right.
