Pouring a beer with friends at our local Indian restaurant. I usually try to go for an appropriate ethnic drink, or at least a drink that comes from that country. The beer list was mostly American beer or traditional imports, with Taj Mahal beer being the only exception. It was OK… it may have been brewed in India, but it seemed a very American style.

Tried to catch some nice evening sun down by the water the other day. Got some nice colors in this HDR image of the grasses even if none of the orange light came through. Really happy with the LR/Enfuse HDR plug-in though. The price is reasonable (donationware) and it can batch-process multiple images stacks. Not a lot of options to tweak but seems to work just fine.

The cucumber plant in our garden is making a run up the garden fence. It seems quite happy doing so as well. I think this more of a growing tip than a flower per se but the structure made me consider as such. I snapped a few pictures with my iPhone in case I needed material, and sure enough this came in handy. I applied a rose-colored glasses effect after the fact.

Monument of a minuteman in Lexington Massachusetts, a pivotal place in America’s fight for Independence. The Lexington Battle Green is visible immediately behind. This is an HDR from bracketed exposures with the DSLR using a new plug-in I got for Lightroom. I had been using a trial another great HDR tool, but you will notice the watermarks are no longer present. The new tool has fewer features than the other, but the price fits my budget and the results fit my needs so I think we have a winner. Bought a nice HDR app for my iPhone too, more on that later…

If there is one thing I do like about spiders it’s that they eat other insects. We get a fair amount of spiders in the house, and more often then not I let them be. I will clean up thier webs from time to time, but they’re welcome to build new ones in their place. There was a particularly big spider on the wall today in an easy-to-photograph location, so I turned my lens around and got and nice and close for our viewing pleasure. It’s only a little creepy, no?

When we moved into our house there was a box of wedding stuff in the attic from a previous owner. I pulled those items out for a recent yard sale. When they didn’t sell I thought that if I couldn’t make a dime with them at least I could make a photo. Here are the bride and groom’s toast glasses against the trees and deep blue sky. Cheers.

We are signed up for the CSA at Springdell Farm in Littleton. Every week we get a big box full of wonderful fresh fruits and . These are just a few of things that we received this week, much more has already been consumed or put in proper storage. Not great clarity on today’s photo… it was a long Saturday and I took this with the iPhone just before heading to bed.

The chickens for our egg co-op recently moved into their new home. When we started with the co-op I don’t think many of us realized that we would be building the co-op from ground up, which meant no only getting chicks, but also building a chicken coop from scratch. Now that we have everything in place the members of the co-op take turns with the responsibilities. I took advantage of my closing night to take some pictures of the chickens in their new home.
