Final day of my Project 365. It’s been a good time and I feel that I have grown a lot as a photographer in the past year. Looking forward to doing a lot more great shooting in 2011… on my own schedule. There were early fireworks following the parade in Boston as part of the [...]

We took a walk through the fairgrounds over to where the creek opens up into the pond. (Opposite of the sunset photo from yesterday.) We crossed the makeshift bridge and walked into the woods until the sun started to go down. The light from the setting sun was a lovely color and I got my [...]

Once again stopping by the beach at Heart Pond hoping to catch some great evening rays. I probably have done this through at least two or three seasons now, so it might be interesting to contrast the summer reflections on the water and the cold winter ice. This shot almost seems appropriate as I wind [...]

Our youngest son loves the wooden railway. This Christmas he got the engine named “James”, which he has since renamed “mine” as they share the same name. Shot with the 50mm prime lens, single strobe bounced off the wall/ceiling camera rear left.

We spotted this little guy sitting out on the ice over the creek the other morning. Not sure if he dug that hole in the ice or not, but it did seem that he was sitting there eating something. I was happy to finally get a half-decent shot of our local wildlife with my inexpensive [...]

I was thinking to myself as I walked around with my camera and new strap how much less it will suck to accidentally let the strap fall into the frame of the shot. This could have just been a seriously bad photo of my own leg, but instead I captured this cool shot of black [...]

My wife surprised me with a wonderful gift by getting me one of the super-cool camera straps that I’ve been eyeing up. All hand-made, rock-star quality leather strap with a “Speed Racer” style orange band sewn in. I’m not worthy… yet. Shot on Christmas day just after opening it, single speedlte bounced off the ceiling.

On Christmas Eve I got to meet my friend’s new Labrador puppy. The then-unnamed canine youth was playful and handsome and I a got a couple of really good shots like this. I shot this with the 50mm lens and a single speedlite bounced off the ceiling. Looking forward to doing many more puppy pictures [...]

We baked a lot of cookies this year. Ate a lot of cookies too. The kids helped out with both the baking and eating, though some more than others. I had put James in one of the aprons I had made for one of his older siblings and he looked so sharp in it that [...]

Had “date night” with my lovely wife at our favorite local restaurant. I even promised to pay more attention to her than to the camera. It wasn’t that hard really, but I did knock the photo out early so that I could give her my undivided attentions. Love you Sweetie.
