Final day of my Project 365. It’s been a good time and I feel that I have grown a lot as a photographer in the past year. Looking forward to doing a lot more great shooting in 2011… on my own schedule.
There were early fireworks following the parade in Boston as part of the First Night new year’s eve celebration. I used my handy Gorillapod to set up the camera in a nice open section of snowy ground just steps off the parade route (where my family would be waiting patiently). I went with the wide lens option and pulled in a lot of the scene with the audience as well as the fireworks display, and later I applied some lens correction in Lightroom to straighten the lines. About 1.5 second exposure using ISO 100 to minimise the noise.
