From time to time I pass this old school on my way through the city of Lowell Massachusetts. This past weekend I had the opportunity to stop briefly and take a few photos of it in the late afternoon sun. The school, erected in 1882, is closed off and boarded up and I was relegated to shooting my photos from the street. While I had worked at the time to capture the entire school building, in the end I found this close-up HDR shot of the front entry the most interesting. The brick structure seems to be holding up fairly well but this angle shows signs of clear deterioration. This isn’t bad for the two-minute drive-by shooting I did, but I think I will need to revisit this old building again in the future.
