This porcelain doll came to live with us some months ago. I had expressed concern about such a fragile toy, and alas she has suffered a fractured leg. She sits now on a shelf of an old built-in bookcase I discovered behind some wallboard. The old doll and the old shelves seemed to work together and called me to photograph them. The only problem is that this doll has some freakishly bright green eyes. It’s almost disturbing to stare at her, like she’s going to shoot laser beams from her eyes at any moment. Fortunately for us all I was able to able to convert this picture to a nice antique black-and-white, a fine compliment to the antique style porcelain doll.
