Last year I decided to take on a photo challenge. Often called “Project 356″, it is a challenge to take at least one photo a day for an entire year. While there are many different variations on the challenge, such as self portraits or specific objects, I chose to go with a very open-ended project and just hold myself to a daily photo. Obviously it means a lot to me for them each to be great photos, and many of them are and I am quite happy about that.
Still, with work and a home a family to take care of, sometimes the photo takes a back burner or forgotten entirely. (Thankfully that doesn’t happen too often.) Many participants have already decided to leave the project, and I’m sure that more will follow. Some leave with a bit of fan-fare, others quietly vanish and stop posting. Me, I’m sticking it out to the end. That’s really all I need to do to prove to myself that I can do it. Not every picture will be great, and some will be downright mediocre, and I may even miss a day or two through the year.
To make the bookkeeping easier I, like many others with me, started the p365 on the first of the year. Having reached the end of June we are now halfway through the year and halfway through the project. I’m proud of myself not only for making it this far through the project, but also for learning and growing as much as I have in the past six months. I look forward to growing more before I complete my project at the end of the year. I also look forward to looking back at all the great photos that came from it. (…and also having time to go back dig up all the other gems that have been overlooked in my haste to get each days’ photo published.)
At the end of each month I have done a mosaic of all that month’s photos. Here, assembled in this one post, are the six mosaics that represent every photo that I have published as part of my personal 365-day photo challenge. It’s been a lot of fun, and a lot of work at the same time. I hope you all enjoy the great images I’ve created along my learning journey. Thank you all for your support!

Most excellent. Having a passion for something and chasing after it is always fun!
Jason
Thanks Jason. It’s good to be passionate about something, isn’t it? I maybe chasing my passion, but I think you may be running yours down!
