I’d like to play this off as being a thoughtful and composed “Earth Day” photo, and I can even come up with several stories behind why I may have chosen this composition. To be honest, however, I snapped this with the iPhone while riding my bike with the kids. (Not shown is the 4yr-old on the trailer-bike and the 1yr-old in the iBert seat under my handlebars.) This is a farm just up the road from my house, on a tiny little road posted for residents only. I loved the sight of the green fields, the blue skies, and the puffy white clouds. I just stopped the bike and shot off a couple pictures with the iPhone and kept on going. It wasn’t until after 11pm that I realized I hadn’t done anything for my daily photo project, and the ones I did then aren’t even worth posting. So with a little straightening and a touch of cropping, this family time photo has become my daily gem.
It been a tough week for me and the photo project. The kids were on vacation and my wife was working full days every day for “camp week” at her after-school program. It’s been a bit of a change going from working full time to being home full time with all three kids. I didn’t get much of anything done aside from surviving and keeping the house in relatively good order. I’m sticking this project out though, so I’m glad that we’re not worried if ever day isn’t my creative best.
