I mentioned earlier that my son was taking an interest in the photography I’ve been doing. This day he built a "recycling center" out of blocks and he asked me to take a picture of it. (He asks that I take a picture of many of his creations.) Well, I had just made my new snoot/reflector, so I immediately had a vision of creating this low-angle shot of the "building", making it look huge, and throwing a tight light from the snoot across it for my picture of the day. The boy got excited that this would become my POTD and he really wanted to be in the photo too. He even pulled the name tag off his door and used that in the photo.
After a little experimentation with the snoot I decided the light was wrong for the now two subjects, so I flipped my creation over and attached it to the strobe as a big reflector instead. (Notice the nice soft light used here, eh?) The boy and I went through the photos together and he is quite certain that is the one I should use for my daily photo. So here it is… one custom-built recycling center and its creator.
