My wife finished a pair of mittens today. Usually she works at her desk, but on this evening one of the kids was on her computer so she was sitting in the big comfy chair instead. There she sat with the dog on her lap, the fireplace in the background, and a soft table lamp coming from the side. Great setup, so I went and got the camera and the flash. I played around with different compositions… some with her face, some just the hands or the needles… and I found I like this one the best. This is pretty much SooC save for a minor color touch and the added borders. Camera with the 50mm prime and a handheld flash on a short cable bouncing some fill light off the ceiling.
