I played with a couple of different ideas tonight, all the while my young son was trying to play with me. It was very exciting for him seeing Daddy crawling around on the floor with his funny toys. My son spent much of the time crawling on me, climbing on the subjects, or simply trying to bash the camera gear with a duplo block. On a few occasions I would turn and try to frame the wee lad in a photo using whatever setup was in my hand at the moment. I’m glad that I did, as this one particular moment came out beautifully!
This was taken with the 50mm lens again. The prime lens is a little more restricting as I can’t simply zoom out as the boy moves closer, but I love the light that it can capture. Flash is a handheld Speedlight kicked down to 1/16 power with a Lightsphere diffuser. Love the catchlight it produced along with the soft fill light.
